The standard Karok is already a strong knife. This version asks what happens when you put a titanium handle on it — and the answer is: a lot.
The blade is unchanged from the original and that's a compliment. A 3.4" D2 cleaver-style blade at 62–63 HRC, stonewashed to a tactile, wear-resistant finish that looks better the more it's used. D2 tool steel at this hardness holds a working edge through genuine daily use without asking much in return, and the cleaver geometry makes it one of the more capable utility blades in the Karok's price bracket.
One detail worth knowing about Miguron's D2 that sets them apart from most of the competition: the hardness has been pushed to 62–63 HRC and independently verified — not a factory claim, but a tested result. That matters more than it might sound. Most production D2 knives are heat-treated to 58–60 HRC, which is the safer, easier range to manufacture to consistently. Pushing D2 to 62–63 HRC requires tighter heat treatment control and higher quality steel stock, but the payoff is meaningfully better edge retention — you're sharpening less often, and the edge that comes back is sharper and holds longer. At the price Miguron charges, 62–63 HRC D2 is genuinely unusual, and the independent verification means you're not just taking their word for it.
The handle is where this version earns the premium. Anodised blue/purple titanium is lighter than aluminium at equivalent rigidity, corrosion-proof, and carries a colour that shifts between blue and purple depending on the light — not a painted finish, but an electrochemical process applied to the titanium itself. The matching blue clip completes the build as a deliberate, considered object rather than a knife with a random clip bolted on.
Like all Karok variants, this version runs a button liner lock — the button on the spine engages the internal liner, letting you close the knife with your thumb clear of the blade path. Faster, cleaner, and safer in wet or cold conditions than a traditional liner lock.
Another Blade Forge exclusive, specially ordered for customers who want something the standard range doesn't offer.
