There's a specific kind of carry knife that gets overlooked: compact enough to forget about, capable enough to actually use, and distinctive enough that people notice when it comes out of your pocket. The Andromeda Pro-PG takes that formula and steps up the materials.
The 2.34" drop point blade is Böhler N690, an Austrian stainless steel with cobalt in its alloy. Cobalt helps the steel form a fine, even grain structure, which translates to an edge that takes a keen polish and holds it well through everyday cutting. At 60±2 HRC it hits a practical balance: hard enough for solid edge retention, but not so hard that sharpening becomes a chore. N690's high chromium content gives it excellent corrosion resistance, so it handles sweaty pockets, kitchen use and humid weather without fuss. The black stonewash finish keeps the blade low-key and hides the scuffs that come with daily carry, and at 0.1" thick it stays slim and precise.
The handle is purple Fat Carbon, and it's the reason this knife stands out. Fat Carbon is built from layers of carbon fibre interleaved with coloured resin, so when the material is machined, the layers are exposed as a flowing, marbled pattern through the scale. Because that pattern depends on where each scale is cut from the sheet, no two handles look exactly alike. You get the strength-to-weight advantages of carbon fibre (rigid, light and unaffected by moisture) with a depth of colour that a flat material can't match. Against the matte black blade, the purple reads rich rather than loud.
The lock is a button liner lock. Press the spine button, the internal liner disengages, and the blade closes with your thumb well clear of the edge. Ceramic ball bearings keep deployment smooth and consistent.
At 5.42" overall and just 47.91g, this is a true pocket knife: light enough that you stop noticing it's there, useful enough that you notice when it isn't.
